Make Money with a Computer

In other articles I raised the prospect of how or what was the best way to make money in the Philippines. I will limit this article to the subject of how you can make money in the Philippines with a computer.

The first question to ask yourself is what if anything do you know about computers? Can you use those skills to make yourself a living or at least supplement your current income? Get yourself a piece of paper and write down what you know about computers.

Just like anywhere else in the world, to make money in the Philippines with a computer you will need a skill that is probably not available there already. If your skill is already available then you better either be very good at what you do or you are very cheap. Cheap is not really an option as Filipino cheap is way below the income you will need to survive there. If you are very good at what you do then you will probably already know how you can make a decent income. If you are unsure then consider how your skill will benefit others and just approach them with an offer. You might want to ensure you have that income guaranteed before you take up residence.

For the rest of us who might know only a little bit about computers or maybe not much at all, then we really need to flesh out how we can make money in the Philippines with a computer.

I have a few friends that are already living in the Philippines and are making enough money to survive using their computer skills. They tend to work in areas like programming or building networks for mainly foreign companies. The money is not fantastic but considering how cheap things are there and the lifestyle the guys are living, then they are doing ok thank you very much.

However I am probably more like you. I have a little bit of knowledge of using computers, most likely enough to get myself into more trouble than good, so I had to find a way to use my skills, or rather lack of skills to make a decent living.

Whilst searching for ways to make money in the Philippines I came across internet marketing. This is a very broad area that has a number of smaller niches within that you can specialise in. I won’t go into much depth here, subjects for individual articles, but I will give you a few ideas that you can research further.

So here a few;

* Article marketing. This is basically where you will write an article where you promote a product and try to drive traffic to either your webpage or the webpage of a merchant. Once there the customer can purchase a product and you might earn a commission. This method can be completely free if you use the right methods. Your computer becomes your mobile office that you can literally work from on the beach.

* Pay Per Click advertising. This is where you advertise through the search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. You pay for adds that hopefully will lead customers to either your web page or the page of a merchant where they will hopefully make a purchase enabling you to receive a commission. Using your computer to make money this way can be very profitable if you can find that right niche at the right time.

* Using Ads from other companies on your website. You build a website and drive traffic to your website through either one of the ideas above and you share the profits if anyone clicks on the paid ads on your page. You can literally promote anything on your computer. Imagine living on beautiful Boracay Island looking out across the warm ocean each day. Writing a few ads and then spending the rest of the day relaxing in your beautiful Philippines paradise.

* You can produce and market your own products through the internet. Perhaps you can write a book of some sort and publish this on the internet. There are lots of products in the Philippines you market. Promoting some of the diving opportunities, or bushwalking around some of the volcanoes, visiting some of the old churches. Making you can be inspired by the natural beauty of the islands and be inspired to write on any of the subjects that you have an interest in. Furniture and clothing are also products you could promote on your computer whilst living in the Philippines.

Ok so there are a few ideas where you can make money on your computer in the Philippines. With a little research and training in the world of internet marketing you can make money anywhere in the world that is your little piece of paradise.
