Located in Hawaii’s capital city of Honolulu, the Hawaii Convention Centre is an ultra modern facility that lies at the gate way to Waikiki, one of the world’s most sought-after beach resorts, where dreams of paradise on earth really do come true. The convention centre offers high tech facilities and a five-star cuisine, complemented by experienced staffs that provide unique Hawaiian hospitality founded on the spirit of aloha.

Simply one of the most beautiful convention centres in the world, the cathedral spaces and tropical palm trees are complemented by bold architectural statements, a tropical garden on the rooftop and a superb collection of Hawaiian art. There are also meeting rooms that all go together to create a convention centre that is the perfect mix of elegance and state of the art electronics.

A short stroll from the Hawaii Convention Centre, are over ten thousand hotel bedrooms served by Honolulu International Airport which lies about seven and a half miles to the west of the convention centre. In 1998 the centre opened and immediately established itself as the flagship venue for exhibitions in the State of Hawaii. The architecture reflects Hawaiian style and culture, blending perfectly with the sun-kissed natural world.

Costing over two hundred million US dollars, the convention centre encompasses over three hundred thousand square feet of floor area, providing:

· a two hundred thousand square foot exhibition hall with a loading capacity per foot of three hundred and fifty pounds;
· a registration lobby that covers thirty-five thousand square feet;
· a ballroom that is also thirty-five thousand square feet;
· two theatres with tiered seating;
· forty-seven meeting rooms;
· a vast kitchen complex; and
· a rooftop garden covering two and a half acres.

Technology combines Cat 5 and fibre optic cabling enabling high speed communications in all forms throughout the building. Within each of the major meeting rooms there are multilingual translation facilities and the capability to link up to 400 computers simultaneously. Video cabling is throughout the building and there are up and down satellite links. Of course, there are many other technology innovations that make the centre the perfect location for international business.

The unique design of the Hawaii Convention Centre was inspired by traditional Hawaiian architecture and features of the natural world such as crystal clear streams, cascading waterfalls and tidal pools. The trade winds provide much of the building’s cooling ventilation and the world of plants combine with the natural soul of Hawaiian art to create areas that are both functional and aesthetically inspiring.
